Volume Enhancement

A Dermal Enhancement Consultation is a comprehensive assessment with our qualified Cosmetic Nurse to discuss your aesthetic concerns, treatment goals, and overall facial assessment.

During your consultation, we will review your medical history, perform a detailed facial assessment, and discuss the treatment options that may be suitable for your individual needs. If a prescription-only treatment is considered appropriate, it can only be prescribed following a consultation with an authorised prescriber.

Your practitioner will also discuss the potential benefits, risks, expected recovery, alternative treatment options, and associated costs, ensuring you have all the information required to make an informed decision.

A personalised treatment plan will then be developed based on your individual assessment and goals.

During your consultation, our qualified Registered Nurse will undertake a comprehensive facial assessment and discuss the concerns you would like to address. Following your assessment, your practitioner will determine whether a cosmetic medical treatment is appropriate for you.

Concerns that may be discussed include:

  • Age-related facial changes
  • Facial balance and proportion
  • Skin quality
  • Facial symmetry
  • Individual aesthetic goals

A personalised treatment plan will be developed based on your anatomy, medical history, and treatment objectives.

Please note: A consultation is required to determine your suitability for treatment. If a prescription-only medicine is considered appropriate, it can only be prescribed following an assessment by an authorised prescriber. Individual results vary, and all cosmetic medical procedures carry potential risks and side effects, which will be discussed with you before any treatment is undertaken.

Not everyone is a suitable candidate for cosmetic medical treatments. A comprehensive consultation with our qualified Cosmetic Nurse is required to assess your medical history, current medications, and individual suitability before any treatment is considered.

Treatment may not be suitable, or may need to be postponed, if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Have an active skin infection, cold sore, or open wound in the treatment area.
  • Are feeling unwell or have an active illness.
  • Have recently undergone certain cosmetic or surgical procedures in the treatment area.
  • Have a known allergy or sensitivity to ingredients that may be used during treatment.
  • Have certain medical conditions or are taking medications that may affect healing or increase the risk of complications.

Your treating practitioner will discuss your medical history, potential risks, alternative treatment options, and answer any questions you may have before determining whether treatment is appropriate for you.

Please note: A consultation does not guarantee treatment. Any cosmetic medical procedure will only proceed if your practitioner determines it is clinically appropriate and safe for you.

Yes. As with any cosmetic medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects. Before any treatment is undertaken, your qualified Cosmetic Nurse will discuss these with you in detail, including the expected recovery, potential complications, alternative treatment options, and answer any questions you may have so you can make an informed decision.

Common side effects may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, and discomfort at the treatment site. These effects are generally temporary and usually resolve within several days.

Although uncommon, more serious complications can occur with cosmetic medical procedures, including infection, allergic reactions, vascular complications, tissue injury, or delayed healing. The likelihood of these risks varies depending on the treatment performed and your individual medical history.

A thorough consultation and medical assessment are completed prior to treatment to determine your suitability and minimise potential risks. Individual results vary, and all cosmetic medical procedures should only be performed by appropriately qualified healthcare professionals.

Pre-Treatment Care

To help ensure a safe procedure and minimise the risk of bruising or other complications, we recommend:

  • Attend your appointment with clean skin free from makeup where possible.
  • Inform your Cosmetic Nurse of any changes to your medical history, medications, allergies, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you have an active skin infection, cold sore, open wound, or are feeling unwell, please contact the clinic, as your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment where possible, as it may increase the likelihood of bruising.
  • If medically appropriate, discuss any blood-thinning medications or supplements with your prescribing doctor before your appointment. Do not stop any prescribed medication unless advised by your doctor.

Post-Treatment Care

Following treatment, it is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or sensitivity at the treatment site. These effects are usually temporary and resolve over the following few days.

To support your recovery:

  • Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area unless instructed by your practitioner.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths, and excessive heat for 24 hours.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours following treatment.
  • Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for approximately 12–24 hours, or as advised by your practitioner.
  • Sleep with your head slightly elevated on the first night if swelling is present.
  • Continue wearing SPF 50+ daily and avoid excessive sun exposure while the area is healing.
  • Follow any personalised aftercare instructions provided by your Cosmetic Nurse and attend any recommended review appointments.
